Music Line Up & Silent Disco

Music Musings: The Spring Festival Line Up is HERE!

We warmheartedly present the newest addition to our Pecan Street family, Michael Howard, and his booking/events management company, Apogee Presents.

Michael Howard

Having presented several alternative festivals in San Marcos, Michael bridges the two “college towns,” bringing an old-school “keeping it weird” vibe back to Austin while having his pulse on the latest and greatest sounds of central Texas.

His Spring Festival (May 4th and 5th) music line up builds on our commitment to diversity and supporting local up and comers, and embodies the same positive energy Michael brings to the table.  His hard work and enthusiasm means that – way ahead of schedule – we are announcing our music line-up; and our Spotify channel is ready to enchant your earbuds!

Band highlights include: Malahierba – a psychedelic rock trio from Juarez, MX; Goldie Pipes, a self-described “classic crooner from the hip-hop generation;” Rusty Dusty, with their gritty guitars and lush vocal harmonies; Mama Duke, Artist of the Year and Female Artist of the Year – Austin Hip Hop Awards, 2017/recent Austin Music Awards nominee; Henry + The Invisibles, a one man funk band incorporating “the sheer songwriting finesse of Elton John with the technical virtuosity of Jimi Hendrix in his loop-based arrangements” (Jack Anderson, KUTX); all-‘grrl’ teen rockers, Midnight Butterfly; beatboxer Ben Buck, aka “Filthy McNasty;” and Zoumountchi, the popular Sahara Lounge staple with their SO-danceable West African groove.

But WAIT! There’s MORE! Performances by The Red Road Warriors/Native Drum and Smell Monster Puppet Theater.

Silent Disco – you say?  Pecan Street’s Silent Disco (Red River stage in the evenings) will feature a unique mix of DJs playing a range of tunes from hip hop to house & everything in between!  DJs include: YawS, Poolboi blu, Jungle Party, Dmo Cobb, Funkbox, DJ Faded, Indigo, James Owens, Kahlo, & Mr and Mrs.
